I remember when I was in high school, Metallica sounded like musical perfection. What is it about being seventeen and loving Metallica?

You can say whatever you will about Metallica, whether you like them or hate them, but they have put out some pretty indispensible tunes throughout the years, and are one of the most important and influencial bands in the history of modern music. And all the St. Angers in the world won't change that.

People also seem to stand divided on Kirk Hammett's guitar playing. A lot of people really love it and there are a fair share that hate it, too. Dave Mustaine was appalled when he heard Kirk Hammett was replacing him as lead for Metallica, calling him a "no-talent." But that's guitarists for you, they're more catty than a bus full of Miss America contestants.

guitarists catty?? i have no idea what you mean.. btw i could out play kirk with one pick tied behind my back ... in all honesty though im not a huge kirk fan but he is very good at what he does and he played on some of the most classic metallica stuff.. in particularly and justice for all.. perhaps their greatest in my opinion..

Oh, Matty Matt, you make me LOLZ all over the place.

And Justice For All is the only Metallica album I still really like and can listen to regularly. It's a damned masterpiece.

Wow, teal isn't a color I usually associate with Kirt Hammett or metal, but it really works here. This is the most evil Kirt Hammett I've ever seen; I really dig it.

Good job, and Metal up your Ass, and all that.

I'm assuming you mean the lighter colored parts in his hair, because if the background is teal, you may need to turn the brightness down a bit on your monitor.

Regardless, the teals were sort of a happy accident. I inverted the red pencil lines on the drawing and washed over the blackness of the page with a blue background. I thought the teal looked really interesting so I decided to grab the color and paint a little linear stuff with it.

He certainly did come out evil looking, but I think he really tries hard to look evil whenever he has his picture taken. I think he'd be pleased. Unless he thinks he came out looking too much like a longhaired black dude. Then he'd probably be confused.

If I had been in a band with Lars Ulrich and James Hettfield for twenty something years, I'd be confused too.

But yeah, I mean the sort of linear teal accents on the hair and eyebrows. Mr. Hammett would, I think, be proud.
